Ruf Automobile has a long and prestigious history of enhancing the performance of Porsche 911’s. Alois Ruf had the vision to leverage Dr. Porsche’s own background with electric vehicles to make a legitimate electric 911 with historical reference that could compete with its stock 911 counterpart. Mr. Ruf came to CalMotors to design and build the first eRuf. CalMotors designed the body, engineered the powertrain, modified a stock 997, integrated the powertrain and vehicle control systems, and tested the eRuf in Camarillo, California before shipping it to Germany for testing Ruf’s in-house testing and launch.
